Oh gosh, I need to do this. A life lived badly enough, brightly enough, absurdly enough to become material. What a hilarious, quiet little funeral for the men who became genres. Love love love
I love that you found little joys to bring to memory. Taking the positives and happy memories with you and leaving regrets behind is a smart way to say goodbye. May you find more joys. Love, Virg
We all have those, although I assume you have many more. Your writing inspired a poem I’ve recently submitted to an ekphrastic competition. I won’t be sharing it here for some time, but I would love to send it to you if you’re interested in reading it
Fascinating (as Spock might say). A lens on life I would otherwise have not peered through. I love you sense of being, of feeling, knowing, and willingness. The lack of a tether. Also, a very enjoyable read! (I feel so absolutely boring now, though.)
Tethers can be invisible, I think. Openness and willingness often shades them.
haha... people often assume I'm conservation, probably due to my appearance and demeanor, but they don't know what or how I think. Of course, that applies to all of us (well ... mostly)
ughhh... conservative, not conservation (never trust a phone).
You're absolutely right - it does apply to all of us to some extent; a combination of our individual persona (the mask we carefully craft) and other people's projections.
Don’t worry, I am absolutely fluent in AutoCorrect and typos. When I was a teenager, I thought I was an existentialist and obsessed with the idea that we cannot fully ever know anyone’s subjective reality and therefore not truly know anyone else. Anyway, thank you for liking the story. ❤️
remarkably soft, loving, and forgiving for the City of Angels exit story.
somehow i feel that there is a crumpled draft that is yearning to exhale just a little more of the grime and urine streaked walls that we know are around (in) every corner.
(the chapel appearance was a hoot, as i once worked up the street and attended at least two —one can never quite remember, weddings in that exact chapel. only question is whether the video feed was operational during your experience).
That’s hilarious that you know the chapel so well. The cake that came with the package was surprisingly tasty lol. But on a more serious note, you are absolutely right. I need to write a more vicious version of my LA exit. I think once I’m in Palm Springs it’ll be easier to do so.

Oh, please do it. I would love to read it!!!
I just might. You will be tagged and credited accordingly🥀 so good.
It was so hard to decide who to include. I didn’t want to create a giant laundry list.
Thank you for sharing your little black book with us.
That’s the PG version 🤓❤️

I always love your work. What a life to peak into.
Thank you so so much. There are plenty of moments that you wouldn’t want to peek into. 💋💋

I meant the not so fun moments being crumpled in bed. But yes, we all have them. Thank you, I would love to read it!!!! Please send!!!
That’s quite a list. Suddenly feeling rather peckish for some kitsch. Love this Foxy x
lol. Thank you so much. I love me some kitsch — kitsch and the myth of the eternal return.
Delightful.
Much appreciated, Ray
Per usual, you have mapped the complete genome of certain Los Angeles life facts. <3
Thank you.😍 It’s an entirely biased and subjectively filtered genome. But it’s probably true for many. 🩵

I wonder about the lack of a tether. I might ask you about that. And you are definitely not boring whatsoever!!!

I think to a degree it applies to all of us

Anyway, I love the story. :)

eagerly awaiting part II.
(did you borrow the “silk” flowers for the wedding? that is a memory i will not soon forget.)
No way. It was kitschy enough as it was. Also, we were rather inebriated. 🕺💥
It’s always a treat to find you in my inbox - I love this view of place through the men who inhabit it
Thank you for your nice comment. ❤️My view is horribly biased. But I guess everyone’s is.
